Shawn Collins grew up in and around the shop. From auto repair to racing, he loved learning everything he could about cars. And still does. Although he doesn’t turn a wrench on a daily basis, he’s familiar with all segments of the automotive industry. Shawn’s ability to envision and forge brand-enhancing design, concise messaging, and interactive strategy, facilitates his company’s award winning formula of results-driven digital solutions to clients across diverse industries.

As Founder and CEO of EXTEND GROUP, a full service Marketing Communications and Technology agency, Shawn leads the industry in developing breakthrough marketing solutions. For over 15 years, he’s consulted with Fortune 500 companies, executing his expert interactive strategies while positively impacting the automotive aftermarket. Shawn’s role as an industry thought leader enables organizations to reach their digital communications objectives.

Shawn’s passion for the automotive performance industry, as well as the automotive aftermarket, gave rise to EXTEND PERFORMANCE, the automotive branch of EXTEND GROUP. And his efforts have earned him considerable industry recognition. Key accolades include the 2014-2015 National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) President’s Award for Catalog Excellence for, in the web category. The 2012-2013 online catalog also earned a President’s Award, a Gold distinction, which is the NCMA’s highest level of honor.  Both awards were presented at an NCMA Knowledge Exchange Conference, the world’s largest gathering of automotive catalog professionals, vendors, and solutions partners. NCMA is a professional society within the Auto Care Industry (ACA). In 2014, EXTEND PERFORMANCE advanced in the American Advertising Federation’s Addy competition, receiving seven Regional Addy Awards for automotive aftermarket entries.

Shawn knows the measurable benefits of training. Whether he’s sending his staff to skill-building classes, or promoting online training as a sales-generator for clients, he believes that, “To train, is to gain.” And, he’s accepted several invitations to share his insights as an industry presenter. In conjunction with the 2015 AASA Vision Conference, Shawn was honored to make a presentation to the Marketing Executives Council (MEC) at the offsite meeting with his topic: “Brand Building Online with Social Media and Training.” He was also a featured speaker at the 2014 AASA Tech Conference, with his presentation,  “Building Your App on a Promise.”

And oh yeah, did we mention he coaches kids baseball? He’s an East Major Coach and Board Member. At a traditional ballpark with shade trees and volunteer parents who grill burgers at the concession stand. Coaching probably inspired his concept of creating online training for automotive technicians as a useful way to promote brand loyalty and generate product sales. Everybody wins.
